Paradelo Burgess Design Studio gained approvals through the West Palm Beach Historic Board for this renovation and addition. Enhancements included a master suite addition with sunken tub, laundry room, renovations to the existing residence, new pool, outdoor grill and trellis, and full landscape design, hardscape, irrigation and site lighting. The design intent was to select authentic finishes and fixtures throughout that would feel appropriate with the 1920’s Mediterranean Revival Architecture.

Historic renovation and addition to this residence located in Prospect Park, West Palm Beach. This project included a Historic Submittal. Existing exterior storage area was demolished and relocated to the side of the residence as to accommodate large windows in the kitchen. Scope of work included renovation of existing kitchen, beverage area, powder room and laundry room. Exterior modifications included a new outdoor grill with stainless millwork cabinets, stone countertop with waterfall edge and outdoor grill.

This project is currently under construction as of the Summer of 2023. Project included historic submittal through the city of West Palm Beach. Scope includes removal of existing balcony and relocation to main residence, new patio with steps and planters to connect to new pool, relocation of kitchen, renovation existing kitchen as service area, master bathroom renovation and guest house living area expansion.

Paradelo Burgess Design Studio provided landscape, hardscape, and irrigation design for a turf-free, mostly native- and pollinator-friendly garden design for this home pursuing LEED Platinum certification. The homeowner wanted low maintenance, highly resilient plantings which stay low-growing to keep the focus on their unique modern architecture. The design features a highly efficient irrigation system that uses no potable water, a buried rainwater cistern, a worm-farm compost system, Resysta "wooden" patios by TruGrain, natural stone pathways, site furniture, and sculptural focal points.

Paradelo Burgess Design Studio provided Hardscape and Landscape Design for this single-family residence. Design elements included water features, dock improvements, pool-deck enhancements, and private garden pathways.

Paradelo Burgess Design Studio was responsible for design-team management, quality control, planning, design, and development of wetland park planting plans and construction documents for 15 constructed wetlands within a 117-acre passive hunting and fishing park. Tasks included upland and wetland planting plans, coordination with specialists and local growers to develop proper planting schemes, and observation services during construction.

Paradelo Burgess Design Studio was responsible for pollinator-friendly, resilient native planting design and habitat restoration for this coastal dune / Florida shrub habitat surrounding an existing Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission boat yard and dock in Port Everglades, FL. Restoration efforts enhanced nesting conditions for a local threatened bird species (the least tern) and provided a low-impact boardwalk for manatee observation. Design elements included rip-rap stabilization and additional salt-tolerant and drought-tolerant coastal plantings. An existing stormwater detention area was enhanced to deepen the swale depth, correct the washed-out area along the northern edge, and provide for additional bioretention through the planting of clump grasses.

Paradelo Burgess Design Studio provided Landscape and Site Design for the parking lot and surface improvements associated with a woodchip bioreactor pilot project. The design features improvements meant to filter and monitor phosphorous from the adjacent watershed, with native and Florida friendly plant materials selected for their drought tolerance since no permanent irrigation was installed.
